Hi, i'm trying to convert a .mkv file with subtitles. how do i go about on doing this? i tried going through the video wizard and the one click convert but it doesn't give me any options on subtitles. oh and i think the subtitles are in the .mkv file cause i don't see it anywhere else in the folder unless .md5 is another format for subtitles. any help is appreciated.

Use one of the profiles with "AviSynth" in the title. Go to one of the advanced things in settings and make sure AviSynth and "Subtitles" within it are enabled. You might also want to check "ConvertFPS."

Got that to work perfectly at first, but now for some reason I'm getting "unsupported data" when I convert mkv files. Don't know what's happening.

Yea, I got the same problem. The conversion seems fine... I mean, the file plays with the subtitles now hardcoded onto the movie on the PC, but the PS3 keeps telling me that it's an "unsupported data" too. Anyone knows of a fix?

I just realized that really small videos actually work on the PS3 whether the subtitles were added with or without avisynth mode.
Long movies still don't, however. Tried all sorts of combinations... Avisynth mode, non-avisynth mode, with convert FPS checked, without it checked, srt subtitle files or ass subtitle files, several different movies...
Seems like if the movie is long, it won't read on the PS3 after the conversion.

There is a lot of players that work with AVR files, but I have found none that support subtitles. Does such a player exist?
