Hi everyone,
has anyone else noticed a significant slowdown with the converter when switching to windows 7?
I was previously on XP 32-bit with 2 gbs of ram, have moved to Windows7 64-bit with 4gb of Ram, and achieved a higher overclock on my processor, but the converter is running slower!
Any suggestions anyone?????

I'm having the same problem as you.
I'm on Win7 also and running on a 2.8ghz pen4 core duo2.
Previously, during a conversion, all 4 processors would be running at 100%.
Now... I got 3 processors barely doing anything and the last processor jumping around from 75-100% usage.

Mine is working just fine though. I'm on AMD Phenom 2, 4gb ram and Radeon 4870.

We are having a discussion over here (http://www.redkawa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47497) about slow downs on multi-core machines. You may want to give version 4.08 of PS3 Video 9 a shot while we look into this.

We have now updated the software to use the conversion core found in versions 4.07/4.08. If you downloaded 5.02 from October on, you will already have the updated version.
If you downloaded 5.02 on the day it was first released (September 30, 2009), then you should:
1) Uninstall the old 5.02 on your machine
2) Download the 5.02 installer again
3) Install the new 5.02 software
It is important that you uninstall your old 5.02. Do not install over the old 5.02 or the conversion core may not be updated.

I just recently bought a new Notebook that came with Vista, but through the promotion, I have a Windows 7 upgrade coming in the mail. The hard drive came partitioned into 2 drives, a 149 GB and a 137 GB partition. My issue is that I'm concerned that some of my software won't work with 7 as it would with Vista, so my plan is to copy over my C drive in place of my D drive, keep Vista on that one, and upgrade my C drive with the Windows 7. Space isn't an issue since the drives internally are bare, I work out of a 500 GB external hard drive, makes gaming easier between my Notebook and my Desktop back home.
I'm not sure how or if I can copy over drives like that. My goal is to be able to boot out of either drive, so my question is is there to accomplish this easily and without having to spend a bunch on a partition copier?

Hi Guys ... new on here....
Dont know if this helps but:
Run msconfig
select boot tab
select advanced button
tick the box "number of processors" and drop the box down to suit.
I know win7 default installs for 1 processor....
Hope this helps in anyway ( dont know if it makes a difference )

i actually went back to 32bit win 7 because of problems like this. I like 64bit win 7, but its not 100% compatible with everything at the moment and it can be difficult to get some of your older software to run. So for now, 32bit win 7 is fine for me.
