when i'm convertin the dvd,it gets to 99% and gets stuck...will not complete.
any ideas why?

It's not stuck. It will finish. I won't explain why. It's the most frequently asked question on the board.

You could use the same settings but do a short "test" encode of 2 or so minutes. You should then see it finish and can be confident that it will do the whole job.
My older Pentium 4 PC took all night to encode movies, you do think it will never finish! However, when I bought a newer PC with a, now, basic Intel E2200 processor it only takes an hour and 15 minutes (or 45 with very long films.)
The H264 (AVC) codec the converter uses is slow and requires a lot of computing power but is generally regarded as giving better results.

The software calculates the progress based on the length of the video and how many seconds of the video is converted. In some cases the software doesn't read the length of the video properly and this messes up the progress calculation.
As others have said, the conversion will finish, you just have to leave it be.
