Hello,

I use Videora for some longer time now and I am really happy w/ it.
Today Videora told me thereīs a new version so I update it.
From this moment on videora just uses 25-32 % of my CPU speed.
Before this it always used 100%.

So from now Videora needs more than 3 times longer to convert the videos.

Any Ideas why?

I use a Core2Quad Q6600 w/ a Nvidia graphic card
and Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

Do you know which version you were previously using?

Are you using the exact same conversion settings?

Hello,

I used a 4.08 Version (i think) before and I still use 100% the same
conversation settings, yes.
I open a .avi video (for testing, i used the same videos as on the old version)
and convert them to iPhone videos, thatīs it)

With the older Version of Videora it used 100% of my CPU Speed, now it just uses 25-32 %

I try it w/ a 5.0 and 5.x (the lastest) version. On both the same.

Any Ideas what this is?
Can I download a older 4.xx version somewhere to test it?

You can download 4.08 using this link (http://files.redkawa.com/installers/videoconverterapp/408/videora-iphone-408-setup.exe).

Please try opening up Task Manager and seeing if all your cores are in use for both 4.08 and 5.02. Also, try and confirm if 4.08 does indeed use all your 100% of your cpu to convert videos.

Exactly the same issue for me.
I downloaded and reinstalled 4.08 version because 5.02 uses only 30 - 35 % of processors. With 4.08, task manager says 100% usage (and fan speed up!). Very faster than 5.02 either for conversion time.
Bye

@ Red Kawa - Thanks a lot.

Yes, both Versions uses all 4 Core of my Quad Core.

Take a look at version 5.x:

http://screencast.com/t/K9apSOHS8
(42% was a lot here b/c of "Jing" Screenshot programm just startet) after that it goes down to 27% CPU usage)

And version 4.08:

The converstion also takes 3 more times as w/ version 4.08 so itīs not just a indication error.

Any Ideas why?

We've tested the software on an intel 2 core and intel 4 core machine. It looks like with versions 5.00+ the conversion core is only utilizing around a single core's worth of performance. So on the dual core machine we saw 5.00 usage at 50% and on the quad core machine we saw 5.00 usage at 25%.

This is obviously a huge difference so we are simply going to place the older conversion core back into the software for the time being. This update is forthcoming and will be first mentioned in this thread.

Making a new release is quite an involved process so we've elected to preform a "quiet" update instead for maximum turn around time. We have now updated the software to use the conversion core found in versions 4.07/4.08. If you downloaded 5.02 from October on, you will already have the updated version.

If you downloaded 5.02 on the day it was first released (September 30, 2009), then you should:

1) Uninstall the old 5.02 on your machine
2) Download the 5.02 installer again
3) Install the new 5.02 software

It is important that you uninstall your old 5.02. Do not install over the old 5.02 or the conversion core may not be updated.

Thank you, now it work very well.
Please, do something also for the error 100000 that arise when you set Windows in a not-English mode.

Bye

That is a totally separate issue from this thread.

Please start a new thread and provide as much detail about the error as possible and we'll look into it.
