Videora 5.02 gives error message

Hello:

I just upgraded from a previous version of videora (can't remember which version) to 5.02 and I am getting an exception error when I open the app. The error message is:

I actually started getting this error yesterday when I installed 5.01 so I saw that a newer version was up today. Can someone please help m with this.

Unlike others who have 64 bit Vista, I have 32bit Win XP Pro Service Pack 3, with 2GB ram

How many XP user accounts are present on your machine?
Is the XP user account you are using the "computer administrator"?

You can obtain this information by going to Control Panel > User Accounts.

I get the same. Was working fine, then uprgaded to 5.01 and 5.02 but both refuse to open, simply get the error, please report to Microsoft message, very dissapointed as this was my converter of choice, happens on both XP and Vista.

When you see the error and hit view program details, you see the exact same error message?

Is the XP/Vista user account you are using the "computer administrator" or just a "Standard User"?

When you run version 5.00 (Download Link (http://files.redkawa.com/installers/videoconverterapp/502/videora-iphone-502-setup.exe)) everything works fine?

I get the message "Videora Converter has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvinience"

I do not have the option to view program details, only send report or dont send.

This is the same for 5.01 and 5.02, but 5.00 is still fine.

This is on Wondows XP as admin user

is "An unhandled exception of type 'System.DllNotFoundException' occurred in Skybound.Gecko.dll" of any use?

Incidentally I get the same when trying to install ringtonesia-iphone3gs-202-setup.exe. Was looking forward to rtying that, but cannot find an older version to download and try either

Yes that is of some use.

Do you have Mozilla Firefox installed as your web browser?

Could you go to Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs.
Then see if you have any of the following programs installed:

Microsoft Visual C+ #### Redistributable

#### - Will be a year like 2005
Please list which of these you have installed.

If you have none installed, please download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package from Microsoft (Download Link (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en)). Once that is installed try running 5.02 again and see if you get the same crash.

Thanks for helping us out. We are unable to reproduce this crash ourselves so we are totally reliant on you letting us know what works and what doesn't.

If that doesn't work:

Can you try this:

Go to: C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter App\XULRunner\
Select all the contents of this folder and then Edit > Copy
Go to: C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter App\
Edit > Paste

Then try running version 5.02 from its desktop or start menu shortcut.

I do already have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable installed, but your second suggestion of copying and pasting the contents of the folders worked.

Will this same method work with the ringtonesia product?

Yep, the copy and pasting of files and folders method works for Ringtonesia 2.02 also, thanks again

Version 5.03 has been released. From this version on you shouldn't have to preform the copy and paste fix.

If you are moving from 5.02 (w/ copy fix applied) then you should follow the following procedures. First, uninstall 5.02 normally. Then delete the C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\ directory manually. Then install 5.03.

The reason for this is because the 5.02 unisntaller will not delete those files you copied over and they will remain until you manually delete them.

Thank you, both video converter and ringtonsesia for iphone 3Gs both installed and work fine now for version 5.03 :-)

Can I suggest that you maybe have an 'Other' option when uninstalling as I was only uninstalling to be able to upgrade, but there is no option for this so had to put it down as software does not run...
