V5.02 64 bit multithreaded?

I have just installed v5.02 on my PC (x64 dual quadcore Vista Sp2) and it only seems to
be using 1 thread when converting

In my conversionprofile I have the number of threads set to 8 which seemed to work fine
with version 4.07.

Is this a bug? it makes 5.02 much slower than 4.07 when converting.

You should have to mess with the threads setting manually. By default it is set to auto, which is the best setting since the software will automatically try to use as many cores/threads as possible. It sounds like you are having the same issue as these guys (http://www.redkawa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47497).

Can you post a conversion log?

We have now updated the software to use the conversion core found in versions 4.07/4.08. If you downloaded 5.02 from October on, you will already have the updated version.

If you downloaded 5.02 on the day it was first released (September 30, 2009), then you should:

1) Uninstall the old 5.02 on your machine
2) Download the 5.02 installer again
3) Install the new 5.02 software

It is important that you uninstall your old 5.02. Do not install over the old 5.02 or the conversion core may not be updated.

It looks like you are using the old version of 5.02. Once you uninstall, download and install 5.02 again your conversion speeds should go back to what they used to be in 4.07.
