Hi folks,
I have been trying to convert some .mkv "subtitled" (the subtitles were not hard coded into the video, but contained in the .mkv file) videos to my iPod touch. The process is as follows:
(I took it from here http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=950499#post950499, thanks GHDpro !!!)
1- extract the subtitles from the .mkv file
2- create an .AVS file
3- convert it with videora
I've done it, and this works wonders, but... there is a small problem. The real process is:
1- extract the subtitles from the .mkv file
2- create an .AVS file
3- convert it with videora -> this will create an .mp4 file with hard coded subs & everything, it works wonders with VLC and other media players, but my iPod touch doesn't like it and I cannot load it, so... here comes step 4:
4- convert the resulting file AGAIN with videora
now, my iPod likes the video and plays it.
I have tried several conversion options, all with the same results, so I tend to use Normal conversion and set everything but resolution to max quality (both times, in step 3 and 4)
So, the moral of this story is: If a converted video works in your PC but not in your iPod... convert it again!
