In v2.04

1) It won't even start a conversion with one of my xvid/mp3 175MB w/H.264 VGA 786kbps/128kbps.
(It doesn't even seem to give any debug info)
2) I can't abort it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[B]EDIT
3) When converting another xvid/mp3 vid using H.264 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps.
The end result when trying to play is an -2002: bad oublic atom found error.
You are going to have to provide a lot more details about your problems otherwise we can't do anything
When you press start what exactly happens?
Does this happen with one specific video or many types of videos or all of your videos?
Does this happen repeatedly with the same videos?
What exactly are you trying to "abort"?
As for the slow encoding times, read the blog, as we've explained everything about that issue there.
From our tests:
0.91 Encode Times
0:38 "MPEG-4/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps"
1:02 "H264/320x240/16:9/768kbps Stereo/128kbps"
2.04 Encode Times
0:34 "MPEG4 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps No Flags"
1:01 "H.264 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps Few Flags"
As you can see, they are pretty much exactly the same.
Encoding times are totally dependent on the profile used.
It has only happened with one video so far--When I click start, nothing happens, only this info is put in the debug console :
EXEC: C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter\Tools\MediaInfo\MediaInfo.exe --Inform=Video;file://"C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter\Tools\MediaInfo\parameters.txt" "C:\Family\Desktop\William's Files\Torrents\Bleach 78-108\[DB]_Bleach_103_[9309F378].avi"
and when I try to abort the conversion...I can't, while all this time it says "Starting Conversion" above the progress bar.
The video itself is a xvid/mp3 175MB and I'm using H.264 VGA 768Kbps Stereo/128Kbps.
Well that definitely gives us something to work with.
So this happens all the time with that specific video?
When you start the program up and try to convert it, that happens?
When you convert another video fine, then try to convert it, that happens?
As for your "-2002" error, please post your debug log for the video that caused that error in this thread:
Yes, this is happening with this specific video.
I start the program, choose that file and choose the H.264 VGA 768Kbps Stereo/128Kbps profile.
Click Start and then it just sits there I look in the debug console and the message in the above post comes up.
I've tried another video of the sort (like the next ep), and it initializes the conversion just fine.
I've also looked at the Video info and all settings seem to be the same with both videos. Same framerate, bitrate, etc.
Another note on this video I'm trying to convert. It did initialize the conversion on v2.03, but ended up in bad atom error when done and played(attempt).
The problems you encountered with #1 and #2 should now be fixed in version 2.05.
Regarding #3, please see the thread regarding that topic:
