System reqirements

I have a PIII 750 Mhz with 256 megs ram. That's not much these days, but I can still rip a DVD from DVD Decrypter in 30 minutes, so it doesn't seem ridiculous.

I am curious if anyone knows if a RAM upgrade alone would increase encoding speeds using videora IPOD converter, or if that would really require a processor upgrade.

Also, if true mimimum system requirements are listed somewhere, I couldn't find them. Does anyone know what they are?

RAM may help a little, but encoding is really about CPU power.

The only minimum requirements are:
Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista
800x600 Resolution or higher

There are no real requirements in the CPU and RAM departments. The program will run as fast as your hardware will allow.

Since you have a slow machine, I would stick to using MPEG-4 over H.264 since MPEG-4 encodes faster. Also, try using the profiles with "No Flags" or "Few Flags" for maximum speedup.
