View Full Version : PS3 Firmware 2.20 Problems
Ever since i update my PS3 to 2.20, and Fileserver is no longer able to download files from my PC. when i use my PS3 to access/download the file from my PC it says, "Buffering.....File is corrupted."
Fileserver no longer gives me the option to actually DOWNLOAD the file it self, instead it'll just say buffering then i'll say corrupted file. I fear this might require a FIleserver update.
Please, can you please fix this? :o
Please, can anyone help me? did anyone encounter the same thing? what should i do to fix this? or this issue needs to be addressed to Red Kawa? Please help

Red kawa File server is indeed broken beyond repair with the new 2.2 Firmware...
I can recommend HFS (http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/?f=intro) instead - much better!

Thanks, i'll have to try that too.
I've tried other DNLA or whatever its called media servers but i prefer to just download the files and save them on the HDD of the PS3... bugger streaming them

having the same Problem...
Redkawa did wonders with this file server. hopefully it can be updated to be used with the 2.20 update. until then I guess i will try this HFS until redkawa addresses the 2.20 problem
Thanks i tried this new HFS, and it works pretty well actually, however, it's not consistent. It’s not as user friendly as the Red Kawa file server which is as easy as plug-and-play, but it'll have to do for now.
Also, this made me go out and buy a 5 gig thumb drive for 30 bucks from best buy, it works like a charm, but keep in mind your video files have to be less than 2 Gigs, other-wise the cluster won't be read.
Thanks.

I was having the same problem, my files would no longer download but stream instead. I figured out how to get them to download again. Instead of hitting X to download the file hit Triangle then go to file, then hit save target and that should download the file to the harddrive.
well i found a way the save the files on the HDD.. go the the file you want press triangle, go up to and press "file", then go press "Save Target".. this will get the old screen up.
this problem is not from the red kawa file server, its the PS3 that made it possible to stream video's, but some things you might want on it's HDD
