My H.264 files generated by videora 2.06 are not syncing to my ipod (G5) either.
Auto Resize ("max 320x240") is enabled but does not appear to work, as the output file has the same resolution as the original. Could this be the problem?

Your video seems to be encoding at the same resolution as the source file, ie: 352x288. I don't really understand why there are two resolutions in each profile's settings (resolution and auto resize) but I find that I have the best results by simply changing the resolution size to what I want and leaving the autoresize function off.

This, of course, has nothing to do with why the file may not be syncing to your iPod. I've had no trouble in that area with any of the versions I've used.

Video Codec XVod??? Does the iPod support that? Not that I know of. I could be wrong though...

The iPod doesn't... but Videora encodes my xvid encoded files to mp4 just fine.

The Xvid codec is simply an implementation of the MPEG-4 Part 2 spec.
MPEG-4 Simple Profile is apart of the MPEG-4 Part 2 spec.
iPod plays MPEG-4 Simple Profile videos.

The fact that it encodes the video to "xvid" is normal behaviour.

Please don't over generalize the above statements to think we are saying the iPod supports "Xvid" video found commonly on the internet. These "Xvid" videos use the avi container and thier video stream is encoded using the MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile (which is also apart of the MPEG-4 Part 2 spec).

The iPod cannot play avi files. The iPod cannot play MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile videos.

Today I downloaded videora 2.07 and converted my mpg's a standard H.264 768 kbit QVGA 2-pass setting. The transfer still does not work with itunes.

Then I decided to give Anapod explorer a try, which I am running on my computer at work. All of my created files (itunes would not sync to my ipod) transferred (and played) without a problem.

I am getting fed up with itunes (there are some other additional issues now, too..) and I have decided to get rid of it altogether.

Um... yeah. Great. I tried that Anapod thing... now half my music is showing up in my Movies library on the iPod and NO video will play. I think I gotta scrub it and start from scratch. Gets even better... all my album artwork is missing... I have double and triple playlist entries. NICE software!

Yeah, anapod likes a clean slate, and you will lose any album artwork if you start up iTunes again and perform soundchecking or gapless playback. It had its uses for a while, but its handling of video files has a ways to go.

Wouldn't have been so bloody bad if I didn't manually update the iPod from 6 different computers across the house! This has been fun! I've been rebuilding for 5 hours now.
