I'm getting the above error sometimes when converting a video file. It will not add to Itunes, and when I try to play it back I get the error. Some video's convert fine, and others that are in the same original format don't. I'm using Vista 32bit. Thanks for the help.

Totally off the subject... but are you in Indiana by any chance?

I've realized this is not a videora problem, but some kind of quicktime bug. Some files will not play back on my desktop PC, but the exact same files will play fine on my laptop with the same version of quicktime and running vista. I've tried everything, but I can't get certain files to play, they give the i/o error.

I had 14 .mp4 files that wouldn't load into iTunes, and which all gave me
Error -36: I/O error
when I tried to view the files in QuickTime.
I was running 32-bit Vista.
But I had plugged in a USB FlashDrive and set its "properties" to turn on "ReadyBoost".
As soon as I "Safely Removed" the USB FlashDrive, thereby turning off "ReadyBoost", al 14 files loaded properly into iTunes, and played properly in Quicktime.
