before christmas i decided i wanted an ipod, so i decided to see how hard it was to decrypt a dvd and convert it to itunes friendly format, it all went well and i had a few films in my itunes. but then i didnt get an ipod for christmas so i deleted the film but kept the software on my laptop and let it grow pretend dusty in a corner. now its nearly my birthday and i am definitely getting an ipod, so i went to refresh my brain on how to decrpyt and convert, yet i put in the same dvd as i did the first time round (region 2 sky captain and the world of tomorrow)
but i cant even decrypt it, as soon as i open the decrpyter a box opens up asking me to select the region but region 2 is already selected and at the top it says "possible RCE protection found"
theeeeen...i get a window saying;
media region code is mismatched to logical unit region! (including the eclamation mark)
logical unit region code : 1
media region code : 2
the slower brute force cracking methods will be used instead of I/O key exchange
visit http://www.rpc1.org for region free (RPC Phase 1) firmware
however that site is down, so my question is:- why cant i decrypt my dvds anymore?!
none of them work and they are all region 2, yet i managed to decrypt and convert at least 2 films about 6 months ago.
