I'm wondering why there is as yet no video converter for the 360. I know I'd love such a program given how excellent the PS3 and AppleTV programs have turned out. Would make it much easier to convert video files to WMV/VC-1.

Our own Xbox 360 Video Converter (http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/Xbox360/) already exists: Videora Xbox360 Converter
Currently it cannot encode WMV files only MPEG-2 files which can only be played back via the Media Center Extender functionality.
We don't plan on adding WMV support for a while, though we will add H.264 and MPEG-4 support just in time for the May 7 Dashboard update.

I don't know about the rest of you but my Xbox360 does not play the video outputted (is that a word?) from Videora Xbox 360 Converter and I use it as an Extender.

Well... maybe not "just in time" after all, no?! :D Any idea when it'll be out? I'm itching to try it out.
But anyway... Keep up the good work. I love what you've done with the program so far.
Also... while I'm at it... is there any way to get the converter to delete a file after it has encoded it? Otherwise I have 2 files sitting on my hdd without need.

I personally love the adds. Can't say I ever used one, though.

When will you do it?

Now that is just about the best news I've heard in quite some time now. Cheers mates! Keep up the very good work!
I have downloaded the converter and converted a couple of videos.
But i am not able to start them from XBOX 360. I Go to Media and Computer, but i dont see my converted movies - the only movies i see is my sample WMV movies.
This converted movies are converted to .mp4 - and thay are not playable in Windows Media Payer 11 either. They work fine in VLC.
What am i doing wrong? Please help
I found the solution. I had to rename the files from mp4 to wmv.
But there is only stereo sound? Where is my AC3?
Help?

i've tried everything and these files still wont work!
I convert to Mpeg-4, rename the file "[filename].wmv" then add to both zune and wmp11 library but 360 still wont play them! It sees them and lets me try to play them but then after a pause says I cant view them, any kind souls got any good ideas pls??? im dying to watch vids on the big tv :)
Are you sure that the directory where the renamed videofiles are located are in the wmp11 search path?
Press F3 when in wmp11
