CAn you copy over folders (for example a photo album folder) instead of each individual files?

Copy from where to where at what stage of the process? You can not copy folders to the PS3 if that's what you're asking. The PS3 needs to verify each and every file that it's authorized to be on the PS3 before it will allow a copy.

Can you muilti select the recognised files within a directory to copy over to PS3 or is it always going to be one by one?

I'm not sure. I know I do not know how myself. The challenge would be to use the PS3 remote and figure out what would be the same as Shift or Control on a PC keyboard. If one had a keyboard connected and working on the PS3 I wonder if it would let you highlight more than one file. That would be neat if you would.

I quit using Media Center X for transferring music for this very reason. When you have dozens of files to transfer it takes too long to select them one at a time. I've been using my flashdrive to copy them since a multiple copy function is available that way.

You cannot use the file server to copy multiple files, not because of the way Red Kawa made it, but because of the way the internet works. On the internet you cannot download folders, you can only download zipped or rarred folders or individual files. However, you can download multiple video or music files at the same time by Upgrading to the latest firmware and then selecting "Perform in Background" and then downloading the next file the same way and selecting "Perform in Background". That way, if you press the PS button, you will End up at the XMB and you will see "HAAAAA" "OMG" A NEW ICON UNDER NETWORK!!!!!!! It will read "Download Management" If you press X on it, you will see all of your downloads here, and you can play games, videos, music, photos, demos, use the internet, download more, use the playstation store, send messages to your buddies, or hell, even protein fold if you want to while the downloads are underway. After finishing one download, it will automatically start the next - and it won't leave you hangin' - it will display a message on the top-right hand corner of the screen telling you which downloads have finished - even if you are in a game. You can always check the status of your downloads manually by going to DOWNLOAD MANAGEMENT, Pressing Triangle, then selecting "Status." I hope this helped.
