Request: Meta Tags

I've noticed that in iTunes if I want to change the program type from Movie to TV Show it takes a long time for iTunes to write the meta tags (I presume that's what is doing). In older versions (actually of iPod Converter), it was very very quick. This leads me to guess that the files created lack the meta information (or stubs) so iTunes has to rewrite the whole file?
