sony needs to try and copy the interface of the xbox 360. Or maybe they dont want us listening to our own music while playing video games. Its not a huge issue but there is nothing wrong with copying the xbox 360.
I agree, they have a loooong way to go with their game os/interface. I'd say they're working on many xbox-like additions to future firmware updates. I think they use the incentives against people who try to hold off on updating firmware.
One of the things that bugs me the most is the game auto-boot as soon as you turn the PS3 on. The only way around it is holding a direction on the d-pad so it will move before it launches the game. They took about a year or so to finally add an option to turn this sort of thing off on the PSP...I imagine it will eventually happen for the PS3 as well.

On the next frimware update I read that they are going to have XMB multi-tasking so lets hope you can listen to your music while playing games for the next update.

The update came on Wednesday.
But what's the difference?

Actually, I think they were refering to the update that's coming March with the Euro release. That update is suppose to allow multi-tasking as well as resumable downloads (and other stuff as well), which will be a welcome addition, on my end at least.
