From what I understand, multi-pass encoding analyses the video and writes to a log file on the first pass and then, it uses the information gathered in the log file to actually adjust the bitrate and encode to file on the second pass.
It seems, that when I use 2-Pass settings with PSP Video 9 (2.x,) encoding is actually taking place on the first pass. Also, the file sizes for 2-Pass encoded video end up being about 25% larger than a standard 1-Pass encoding.
Does anyone know if this is the norm for 2-Pass encoding with PSP Video 9? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
