Greetings,
I have a HD copy of a movie from my HD DVR that i want to convert to 720p HD for the apple tv. So, I use the 720p profile in the latest appleTV convertor (2.15) and, I get a movie that looks great, plays in quicktime and itunes, but wont play on apple tv. I tried to sync it, hoping it would give me an error msg, which it did, saying that this file wasnt playable on appletv.
Upon much research, i realized that the 720p profile is set to do the same frames per sec that the source uses. However, apple states 720p max resolution is for 24fps. So i made a new profile, identical to the 720p one, except i changed the framerate to 24. Well, when it was done, it had did it at 29.97 anyways, despite my settings change, which i did save, and it still wont play on appletv. i also noticed that this 720p profile is the first that made mp4s over 2 gigs that played on itunes or quicktime. I always figured 2 gig was the cutoff point.
Anyways, any suggestions how to get the framerate to do what i want? Or, is it that files over 2 gig wont play on apple tv, or what?
Thanks for any help, my first post here. Hope to contribute.....
