Corrupted Wii 2 GB SD card

Hi. I usually save my stuff on the Wii 2.0 GB SD card for gaming and storage purposes.. but lately, I've seen that it has been corrupted. I'm trying to find the receipt so I can bring it back and get a new one, but... I guess I have no luck but to buy a new one. I was going to reformat the card, but my computer cannot "see" the card (after insertion with a card reader). My laptop has a built-in SD card reader, but.. when I put the corrupted Wii SD card in it, it automatically reboots my PC after a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) message comes up. Any ideas how I can I have my PC "see" the corrupted card and reformat it? Or do I have to buy a new one? Thanks!

ive had that, luckily it was just a 256mb sd card, but the card is junk... you wont be able to format it or anyhting else, your best bet would be to use a small sd card and transfer you saves and games to your computer after you have put them on your memory card...
