It won't let me select to DL to my HDD during files like MP3s. What the hell?
I too suffer this error (and I'm surprised many others haven't brought it up).
Anyway, I messed around with it and the reason the HDD doesn't come up for some files is because there is a space in the filename. If you have a memorystick in there, then you can save to that fine - but that creates another problem. For some reason (also due to the space in the filename) the PS3 saves the data onto the memorystick as the first word of the filename, and no ending file extension. This means that the data is rendered useless unless you stick the memorystick into your computer and correctly rename the file.
Files with spaces are allowed from memorystick to HDD, but from the internet/fileserver, they must have underscores.
Hope that helps. I doubt there's any workaround unless sony upgrades the browser.
