Well i have converted an .avi file using the videowizard and it's conversion worked (or so i think >.>). The file is complete on my computer and i can open it in any media player except Itunes and Quicktime. When i try to open it in Itunes nothing happens, when i try to open it in Quicktime i get this error...
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Error -2002: a bad public movie atom was found in the movie
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
I can not add this video to my itunes by dragging it, or adding a folder with it in, or adding the file itself. Can anyone help with this problem >.>?
The settings i used on Videowizard when converting this file were...
Video Format = New
Video Size = Ipod
Video Quality = Best
Enhance Quality = On
Audio Quality = Best

Heh so basically i can't go full out on the quality with this video >.>. Guess i have to look forward to msopnet to create the fix for it >.<.

I don't think the level of quality is the issue... however, since you said you started with an avi file, it doesn't make sense to encode to a quality (bitrate) level much higher than what your source already is. It won't make it higher quality. It will just take a lot of extra space to contain a video source that has already been compromised. All those extreme settings should be reserved for much higher quality video sources... DVDs.

Hey, could I see the console for your conversion of this video? I can't seem to duplicate a -2002 error, so I'd like to use yours as a test case...

Sure, but mine probably isn't the best example to use >.>. I still can't fix mine, each time i convert an AVS i get the error. I have tried making an AVS manually and tried doing it through your AVS maker. Not only do i get the error but the audio is also always off still. Whenever i preview and AVS the audio is always perfect but after it converts it's totally off >.>?. Oh well maybe you can see what im doing wrong -.-...

Thanks!
When you use an avs, you have to make sure you disable AutoResize and AutoFramerate (when you use changefps) in the profile. Have you done that? That would cause problems...
Last (I should have asked before) could I see the text in your AVS scripts? Yours and AVS Maker's?

"When you use an avs, you have to make sure you disable AutoResize and AutoFramerate (when you use changefps) in the profile"
Change fps >.>? wtf is that -.-" and how do i disable it. What i did was create the avs, load it in the converter and just clicked convert. I did not try anything fancy or even change the size. The avs that the maker made says...
DirectShowSource("C:\Documents and Settings\Lelouch\My Documents\Neo\Neo~\Movies\300.avi")
When i preview the avs the sound and quality are in place, although after it converts it is not o.O? (plus the fact that i get the 2002 error thing if it trys to open in quicktime)

Sorry, thought you knew about it. Do this and let me know if it works.
In Videora go to Settings and change to the profile "H.264 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps". Then hit Edit Profile.
In the Video Tab, uncheck the boxes: AutoResize (enabled) and AutoFramerate (enabled). That is, disable them both. Then hit OK to save the changes.
Open the AVS that AVS Maker made and change it to the following:
DirectShowSource("C:\Documents and Settings\Lelouch\My Documents\Neo\Neo~\Movies\300.avi")
ChangeFPS(24000,1001)
Trim(0,20000)
Back in Videora in the Conversion tab, go to Current Conversion. Select the AVS file and convert it using "H.264 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps".
This should convert the first 14 minutes of the Video. Let me know how that works. If it does work, simply delete the "Trim" line and it will convert the entire video.
If this works, I can assume that this solution works, and I can implement it in AVS Maker.
Let me know if these instructions are unclear.

Ok that fixed the error problem but i still have two problems. The first would be that the audio is still off? the second would be that it's wide screen >.>?
Any suggestions >.<

Can you try opening the AVS in Windows Media Player - not through AVS Maker.
You can right-click on it and select Open, then find Windows Media Player
How does it look there?

lmao ya i know how to open it using another media player >.>, and um it looks good in windows media player, the audio and video are in sync perfectly. (in every single media player). It only fucks up after the conversion. Also any suggestion on how to fix the widescreen.

Thats crazy!
It should go into Videora exacly as it goes into Windows media player...
Another question, does the Videora output audio sync stay off by a constant amount?
Could you tell me what the resolution of your input video is?

Also any suggestion on how to fix the widescreen.
Not if you've disabled resize in both AVSMaker and videora's converter.

Lol well it doesn't turn out the same way it looks in windows media player :(. It's really annoying -.-". Anyway the converted video's audio is off by a constant amount yes. The original video's resolution is 656 x 272 (pixels). The bit rate of the file is only 96kbps >.> could that be the problem?
Midiman
04-16-2007, 09:28 PM
656x241 is an aspect ratio of 2.41. You would have to use a utility like Gspot to look at the mp4 file and see if both the SAR (or FAR as newer version seem to call it) and DAR are set to that. I've seen cases where the DAR (what the iPod uses to display the video) isn't set properly.

Thanks for your help in trying to figure out how to get this working...
I forgot before to resize your video in AVISynth which may have caused a problem. This will only convert 4 minutes:
Try this:
AVISource("C:\Documents and Settings\Lelouch\My Documents\Neo\Neo~\Movies\300.avi")
ChangeFPS(24000,1001)
LanczosResize(320, 132, 8)
Trim(5000,10000)
If that doesn't play in Windows Media Player, try:
DirectShowSource("C:\Documents and Settings\Lelouch\My Documents\Neo\Neo~\Movies\300.avi")
ChangeFPS(24000,1001)
LanczosResize(320, 132, 8)
Trim(5000,10000)
Those should be widescreen, and the upper one may fix the sync issue. Let me know if it fixes either problem. Don't forget to use the profile we set up before.

ok we got a negative and a positive this time. The positive thing is that the audio and video are in sync now (using the second one, the first one didnt work at all). The negative thing is it didn't fix the widescreen. My question is, is it possible that the audio and video are in sync because it only converted 4 minutes >.>? (like if i convert the whole video will they still be in sync). Last but not least is there really no way to fix this widescreen thing..
msopnet
04-17-2007, 11:07 PM
I'd have to see the console to see if it's actually resizing improperly. I set up the script so it would convert Widescreen.
In your iPod, go to Videos -> Video Settings, Widescreen should be on. If it is, then you may be seeing the problem I was having before. I put the fix in my signature below (video looking stretched).
If one of those works, you can delete the "Trim" line and try to reconvert again... it should work. (Fingers crossed)

What exactly was the cause of the Widescreen problem? Was it the setting on your iPod? I'd just like to know in case someone has the problem in the future...
Satkop
04-18-2007, 10:31 PM
ok screw everything i said -.- it is not a success i got my hopes up to soon :(. The widescreen thing is solved though, the problem was that i did have the widescreen setting on. I noticed when i took it off that the thing went full but it appeared stretched but that program fixed it. Now the reason it wasn't a success is because the video and audio aren't in sync anymore -.-. They are in sync when i convert just the 4 minutes of the video... but when i convert the whole thing they aren't >.>?. Maybe that description will give you some hints of what could be wrong :(
msopnet
04-18-2007, 10:44 PM
So you'd have to convert the whole thing over again or else you wouldn't know if the Audio was synced?
msopnet
04-18-2007, 10:46 PM
I'm still trying to figure out what that whole problem is with the video appearing stretched, by the way... I hate having to use that fix...

lol nah well today i assumed it would work because the delay and everything was fine on the 4 minute one so i assumed it would be good to go >.>. Then i found out it wasn't. The funny thing is when i convert the whole thing it is all off by a constant amount of delay even the 4 minutes that go fine if i just convert them. Any idea's of how to save me and this video :(?
msopnet
04-18-2007, 10:58 PM
There seems to be something wrong with the Audio Track, it is using AC3 (so it has more than 2 audio channels), and they apparently have different Sample Rates... Give me a few minutes...
Satkop
04-18-2007, 11:10 PM
ok thanks >.< and ya your right it does have "2ch AC3 sound".
msopnet
04-18-2007, 11:37 PM
Well, I fixed it, but I did not do it in AVISynth. It would seem that FFMPEG has some problem with the AVISynth file that uses this type of AC3 source. Oh well.
Re-Edit the profile you edited before: "H.264 QVGA 768kbps Stereo/128kbps"
Under Video -> General, set Width=320, Height=132, Framerate=23.976
Also, be sure that AutoResize and AutoFramerate are disabled.
Under Audio -> General, set Sample Rate=44100
If you get that wierd video stretching error again, I'm afraid you'll be forced to use the program again...
Also, I've converted the whole video and did not get the -2002 error. (I did it earlier today on another computer - it just finished)

04-18-2007, 11:48 PM

Damn, your computer is fast! Took mine about 12 hours. Though mine's TV size, 2-Pass, and all advanced options, so it's pretty good quality... (but only a 900Mhz Athlon)
By the way, it seems that AVISynth is new to FFMPEG, so there may be problems. This I did not know.

04-19-2007, 01:29 PM
Has anyone used Gspot to examine the AR values of the mp4 file?
msopnet
04-19-2007, 02:30 PM
I think he was having the problem where Videora set PAR incorrectly, since the output looked correct after he ran my Fix H.264 A/R program. That program does nothing but set PAR=1, so it uses the resolution as the Aspect Ratio.
I would guess if he used GSpot, he would find the AR values were wrong before using the Fix H.264 program...
The problem now is that FFMPEG has a problem with the A/V sync from this particular video. It is AC3 sound with 6 audio channels. When I used AVISynth to edit the sound, it reported it could not because the channels did not have the same sample rate.
Satkop
04-19-2007, 09:30 PM
Heh so is it impossible to fix >.>?
