i type in my IP address and :8192 after it, but the browser will just sit there on the Opera start page. I saw a thread about this problem, but the solutions were only given for Mac. I'm using a PC and this is also happening to me. How do I get my Wii to access my stuff!?

Be sure Wii Media Center is running on your computer. And type the ENTIRE address http://xxx.xx.xx.xx:xxxx etc.

Is that all that needs to be done? I'm pretty sure I tried that, but I'll try it again. Thanks for the suggestion. If anyone else has any other ideas why it might not be working for me please do tell, thanks.

Yo Spiderkid, i got the answer ur lookin 4. First find out ur IP address by right-clicking on 'status' on ur Local Area Connection icon which u will find on ur taskbar then a window will open next click on the 'support' tab and write down ur IP address.
Next go to 'My Computer' then go to ur 'C Drive' > 'Program Files' > 'Red Kawa' > 'Media Center' now right-click the .PROP File named 'webserver.prop' and open with Note Pad. Now the second line will say 'IP=Default' now replace 'Default' with ur IP, the one from ur LAN Status, once thats done save it and ur done. Just open 'Wii Media Center X' and use the address it gives u and it should work. |

I don't think you fully understand my problem, NGCMaster. I know my IP address, i input it with the 8192 into my browser's URL bar on my PC and it works perfectly fine. In fact, i even made a custom Wii-themed skin for it and all. So i know it works. But that's on my PC. My problem is getting the Opera broswer on my Wii to do anything when i input my IP:8192 into it. For example, if i were to enter google.com into browser, it would bring me straight to http://www.google.com/. However, when i put my IP address plus the 8192, the browser doesn't bring me anywhere. It doesn't do ANYTHING. And this IS while I have Wii Media Center X 0.92 running on my PC. Does anyone at least fully understand my problem? If so, do you know of a solution?

I noticed you said you only type google.com and it takes you there. You need to type "http://xxx.x.x.x.:xxxx" for it to work.

im pretty sure you dont need to type in the http:// and i had the same problem where it doesnt do anything. After noticing this i just ran back to my computer to notice that it was off due the finishing of a conversion of a movie. And you have the computer on, so im thinking your wii might be on a differnt network then your computer, you might be on your neighbors or something

alright, nobody gets it. I know how to input the IP address. I can get to the site from my PC. I input the exact same thing into my Wii and it goes nowhere. Please, can someone give me some help that isn't telling me to input the IP address like http://xxx.x.x.x:8192 please.
Maybe if i said step by step what i do, someone can help me... ok, so... I run Wii Media Center X 0.92 on my PC. I check out the IP it tells me, which I already know by heart. I open up a new tab in Firefox and test it out. It works fine and I'm slighty hopefull it'll work on my Wii. I head over to my Wii, go to the Internet Channel, and wait for the Opera Start page to show up. I click on the button in the middle labeled "www". I enter http://(my IP address):8192, just the way Wii Media Center X 0.92 tells me, and just the way I did on my PC earlier. I click OK. nothing happens. no page loads, not even a blank page. NOTHING happens. at all. Then I come back to these forums to see if there's any hope. Later I retry the process. |
