In the previous pre 3.30 versions of PSP Video 9, I was able to convert TV shows that displayed in the correct 4x3 aspect ratio when played back on the PC. In the current version of PSP Video 9, when I encode a 4x3 video, the resulting file is outputted in a full 480x272 pixel widescreen format. While the video is squished and is displayed correctly on the PSP when the 4x3 option is toggled, I was wondering if there was any way to make the outputted file 363x272 pixels. When I try to manually change the output resolution to 363x272, the file converts within a few seconds and does not work. Also, the Aspect Ratio option in the settings will not let me select anything other than the Original option. The main advantage of encoding to a 363x272 file for a 4x3 ratio video (other than properly displaying on the PC) is that the resulting file size would be smaller than a full 480x272 file.
Whew! Still with me? lolSeriously though, anyone have any tips, ideas, or suggestions? Is this something that is still in development maybe? Thanks in advance for any info. |

I'll have to look into this a bit when I have time available. For the older resolution I always used the 1.74 which i still have installed in my system.
Only problem with this method is the legacy crap you gotta deal with (MP_ROOT). Edit: Supported resolutions are: Below 3.30 Firmware 320x240 368x208 3.30 Above 480x272 720x480 out of box profiles that works: 1.5 MPEG4 320x240 1.5 MPEG4 368x208 2.8 AVC 320x240 2.8 AVC 320x240 2.0 Doesn't work for the video i tried. PS3 Video 9 (default) AVC 480p 1024kbps Stereo/128kbps AVC 720p 3072kbps Stereo/160kbps AVC 1024p 4096kbps Stereo 160kbps PSP Video 9 (default) Fw3.30+AVC 480x272 768kbps Stereo/128kbps Fw3.30+AVC 640x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps Fw3.30+AVC 720x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps |
