I just wanted to know how I can letterbox a movie with psp video 9?
Like adding black stripes over/under if the video is slimmer than 16:9, or adding black on the sides for 4:3 video perhaps?

I did do a conversion, but the end result had no stripes, even tho the aspect ratios of the original and the conversion differed.

Do I have to manually pad every movie I convert, or..?

I personally I've never done this but you shouldn't have to manually do it for every video since it stays on as a profile. I would suggest you make a copy of a profile and try it out though.

Thing is tho, not every movie has the same AR, so using the same padding on multiple files would end up weird I'd assume?

That is true which was why I said to copy the profile so that you have something separte when the time comes to use letterboxing (assuming it works).
