Default PSP Video 9 video Settings - 09-26-2007, 12:31 AM

My converted video has a "ghosting" effect. I used the default: Fw3.30+ AVC 480x272 768kbps Stereo/128kbps.

I had this same problem with the 1.xx version of PSP Video 9. I tried using 2pass and same outcome. Is there a better setting to not have the ghosting effect? Thanks for any help.

Unfortunatly I personally deal mostly with anime type stuff so ghosting. I generally use default profiles a well, with a few flags set here and there for performance reasons (not quality).

If anything look up flags for FFMPEG and see if there's anything you can add for CLI parameters that may help fix the problem.

Use AlltoAVI with XVID encoder for your video to convert to AVI then use Red Kawa's PSP or PS3 video converter to finally convert your video to your console.

PS3 Video 9 (default)
AVC 480p 1024kbps Stereo/128kbps
AVC 720p 3072kbps Stereo/160kbps
AVC 1024p 4096kbps Stereo 160kbps

PSP Video 9 (default)
Fw3.30+AVC 480x272 768kbps Stereo/128kbps
Fw3.30+AVC 640x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps
Fw3.30+AVC 720x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps

Yeah. I also use my psp for anime. Why is it that anime has few or no ghosting effects?

My guess is that there is less "colors" to go around. e.g. A character's face is only like a few shades of one color vs in live action it can be many based on his/her location, how much lighting and such. This isn't quite my point but what I'm trying to get at is there is more stuff to process vs anime.

Also, (going off topic), doesn't really relate to PSPVideo9 but some codecs due to their algorithm will cause this if bitrates are too low, other codecs causes "blockyness" and so forth.
