Default Unsupported Data Help - 09-30-2007, 01:30 PM

I copy my videos to MP_ROOT 100ANV01 or something like that from DOCUMENTS-CONVERTED VIDEOS-PSP-MPEG4-AVC manually ( I do it my self instead of going to library because when I do it with library it says cannot read form source file or disk). And then go on my psp and it says unsupported data. my video is called MAQ00001 because i tried calling it M4V00001.mp4 and it doesnt even show up on the psp. I called it MAQ00001 because my friend's videos are called MAQ***** and i got some videos from his pc,and when I checked 100ANV01 its what the videos from my friend were called so I thought I would try that. but I want to copy video's myself. Oh and I checked the sticky on framerates and stuff and I don't think its that.

Unsupported data doesn't automatically point to framerate, I only mentioned it in my sticky because it is THE majority of my issues for me and it shows how picky the PSP is and that all it takes is a .001 difference in framerate and it automatically goes unsupported. I was making a point that Sony's PSP and PS3 is super picky unlike anyone's media player that is played on a PC. Simple as that. So what this means is that it could be a magnitude of things that causes this message.

This is also the reason why I tell people that playing it on your computer is pointless.

In your case? My guess might be that you're using a conversion that is ment for newer firmware and you're putting it in the wrong place. If your firmware is older, don't use a newer profile on your conversion. The same goes for the other way around too. the x:\MP_ROOT\100ANV01 ONLY works with legacy stuff (pre 3.30), and the X:\VIDEOs only works for newer settings. These two do not play nicely with each other so you have to be careful on what profile you choose.

The whole MAQ***** and M4V***** I'm personally not familar with so I don't know why one would be MAQ and the other M4V. I've always delt with M4V ever since the PSP came out and moved on to the VIDEO directory as soon as 3.30+ came out.

Use AlltoAVI with XVID encoder for your video to convert to AVI then use Red Kawa's PSP or PS3 video converter to finally convert your video to your console.

PS3 Video 9 (default)

PSP Video 9 (default)

Fw3.30+AVC 640x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps

depends on the profile you pick. all you really need to know is what you're firmware is on and use the appropriate firmware profile for it. iirc, the 2.0 one doesn't work correctly.

only if you use the legacy profiles. I don't use that directory cause it doesn't do the wide screen deal. But if your videos are "square" using that directory is fine, it is just a pain in the butt cause you can't name your videos the way you want them.
