Default why wont it play - 10-01-2007, 04:30 PM

Some converted files just stop playing and i get the message "This video cannot be played" . This is very frustrating because it seems to be completely random. Why cant it be played. If i got a reason i might be able to fix it.

Unfortunately, it is somewhat random, sorta. I had a case like this a while back but it always happened at a specific area. I haven't come back to check on this issues as it only happened to one or two videos of the many videos I've done so far. I don't have anything to point at at the moment.

Use AlltoAVI with XVID encoder for your video to convert to AVI then use Red Kawa's PSP or PS3 video converter to finally convert your video to your console.

PS3 Video 9 (default)
AVC 480p 1024kbps Stereo/128kbps
AVC 720p 3072kbps Stereo/160kbps
AVC 1024p 4096kbps Stereo 160kbps

PSP Video 9 (default)
Fw3.30+AVC 480x272 768kbps Stereo/128kbps
Fw3.30+AVC 640x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps
Fw3.30+AVC 720x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps

Lightbulb "this video cannot be played" - 10-04-2007, 08:13 AM

i've posted some stuff over in the old forums about this:
http://www.pspvideo9.com/forums/view...?p=39908#39908

im using the video folder, and so far all video's that were wide screen encoded worked normally. most of the videos encoded in 4:3 displayed the error.
One video i previously encoded with 4:3 (the original is wide screen) started working when i changed the setting to wide.
However it seems, that if the original is in 4:3, even the wide setting in video 9 will not "enable" it.

Also as mentioned over in the other forum, it may have something to do with sound, as i was able to play a video in fast forward without problems, that would show "this video cannot be played" when playback was normal and sound enabled.

The last theory is memory stick compatibility ... i'm using a 4GB original Sony memory stick pro duo ...
