Sand Tobogganing Review

Moreton Island is a large sand island that is 58 kilometres NE of Brisbane. Most of the island is a National Park and it is a popular destination for many recreational activities. The Tangalooma Island Resort is also located on the island providing hotel accommodations for visitors, leisure activities like ATV quad bike tours and whale watching, as well as ferry service to and from the island.

There are all sorts of things to do on Moreton Island and you would need to spend at least a few days just to do a few of them. If you are pressed for time you can take a day trip to and from Moreton Island. This costs $40 for a return ticket and takes 75 minutes each way. Ferries leave Brisbane daily at 7:30am and 10:30am and return at 3:30pm and 5:30pm. If you take the 10:30 ferry, you will likely only have time to do one activity, however if you leave on the earlier 7:30 ferry you can probably fit two activities into your schedule. The ferries are high speed catamarans which have lots of seating space both open and enclosed.
